How do you define "applicant"?
An “applicant” is an individual who submitted an expression of interest in employment through the Internet or related electronic data technology. The individual is considered for employment when they possess the basic qualifications for the position. The individual at no point in the selection process prior to receiving an offer of employment removed himself or herself from further consideration or otherwise indicated that he/she was no longer interested in the position.
What steps and requirements should I expect as part of the BTS hiring process?
Depending on the project you are applying for, you may be required to complete a background, drug screen and/or credit check. GED or High School diploma required for all positions.

What is the Service Contracts Act or SCA?
The McNamara-O’Hara Service Contract Act requires contractors and subcontractors performing services on prime contracts in excess of $2,500 to pay service employees in various classes no less than the wage rates and fringe benefits found prevailing in the locality, or the rates (including prospective increases) contained in a predecessor contractor’s collective bargaining agreement.
